Eat-n-Let-Eat is the philosophy based on the idea of sharing with the least of these, not because we have extra to share but that all human beings deserve to live with dignity and respect no matter their economic/social status. Our Brother's Keepers group is built on a foundation of compassion and caring. We believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect and we are committed to using our resources, however how meagre, in the most impactful way possible among the most in need in our midst.
The philosophy of our brother’s keepers foundation is derived from the message from St Mathew 25:40, And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, in as much as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Our vision for the greater good for humanity is primarily based on the phrase “eat and let eat”, “live and let live” as in Francis Imbuga’s play, Betrayal in the City. Our interpretation that, although we may not be able to share our lives with everybody, we can share our livelihood with some. We believe in the promotion of health, security, and happiness of our fellow men.
We are guided and propelled by our own acceptance that nothing is too little to share so long as it contributes towards these three factors and that the cumulative result of such little pieces of good deeds to our fellow men can culminate in a community with less suffering and more enjoyable to live in. In Swahili we say “kidogo, kidogo, hujaza kibaba” meaning, little by little the bucket will eventually fill.
Our team is made up of dedicated professionals and volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in our communities. We work tirelessly to ensure that our programs and services are meeting the needs of those we serve.
We may not be able to share our lives with everybody, but we can share our livelihood with some.
